Blue on Blue

We have been waiting for Spring for so long, and looks like we finally got it. Sudden and intense, it is here!

On April 1st we dusted off the Motobecanes for the first time since late November, and since then I have been riding Marianne all over town and beyond. She just seems like the perfect spring bike - maybe it's the colour and the speed?

Oh yes, and the cherry blossoms on the handlebars.

Marianne is so happy to roam amidst the flowers. She has been asking me in a quivering voice to remember these good times and not to get rid of her despite having other mixtes. Indeed, how can I get rid of her when she matches the blue flowers so nicely!

Animals at Lions, Tigers & Bears

Like their name implies, there are in fact lions, tigers and bears...well, actually *a* bear at this neat place. There are many other animals there too. Some of the first ones you see are the emus.

You can get very up close and personal with them, but they do not recommend doing so because they bite. While I was trying to get better pictures of the emus, the donkeys decided I was there to see them and wandered over.

Without meaning to, I did get up close and personal with them. Hello, there!

Same thing happened with the deer. They must be paparazzi friendly creatures. "This is my better side!"

I did not get up close and personal with this hybrid wolf/dog breed.

Or this hybrid cat. Although it does look nice and cuddly, they assured us that is not usually the case.

And who could resist this sweet face? Apparently not it's former owner that spoiled it rotten until it got to be too much to handle.

I could resist these not so exotic creatures because I still have flash backs to being sent out to collect the eggs and having to fight with the feisty animals to get them.

I know, you want to see the lions, tigers and bear. They will have to wait for another day though because I still have to edit their pictures! In the meantime, can't you just picture a place where chickens and tigers share space together? Ok, I couldn't either before this visit!

Living the life in warm Florida!

Smelling Spring

Trying to smell spring out the window and trying a bite of a flower, plus just being silly kitties.

Happy Memorial Day

It is still hard for us to not be with all of our children and our grandchildren on holidays. We did have the joy of having friends around this holiday though, and that offset our sadness some.

Jack and Diane hosted a Memorial Day party for all of us. We had food, fun and friends. All good things!

It was Karen's birthday, so we celebrated her day with her. Josh had picked out all of her cake ingredients. Good job, Josh!

Bob brought a game that he made. We split into teams, with guys against girls, and played against each other.

Faye was the first one to land on a hook. Then Ken showed her up by landing TWO rings on the same hook. I managed to hook one of the top ones. Karen hooked a 10,000 point hook and then accidentally knocked it back off. So not fair with it being her birthday and all, but she was a good sport.

So, who won? The women! We had a lot of fun and I'm now thinking I'd Nathan to try and build one for us.

Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday filled with good things!
